Introduction: What Is the Book of Revelation Really About?
Most people think the Book of Revelation is about the end of the world.
They think of beasts, judgments, timelines, and mystery.
But Scripture tells us something different:
“The Revelation of Jesus Christ…” (Revelation 1:1)
Revelation is not primarily about events.
It is not primarily about prophecy charts.
👉 It is the unveiling of a Person—Jesus Christ in His glory.
If you miss that, you miss the book.
If you see that, everything else begins to make sense.
What Does “Revelation” Mean?
The word “Revelation” means:
- The appearing of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:7)
- The coming of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:7)
- The revealing of Jesus from heaven (2 Thessalonians 1:7)
This book is not about hidden things.
👉 It is about something being uncovered, unveiled, and made known.
Where Did the Book of Revelation Come From?
Revelation has a divine origin:
- The Father gave it
- To Jesus Christ
- Who gave it to His angel
- Who delivered it to John
This is not human speculation.
👉 This is heaven’s message to the church.
